Quality and Standards

Buckingham is aware of the importance of external scrutiny to our reputation for high academic standards. The University joined the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in 2001, and is inspected annually, providing confirmation that quality and standards at the University are amongst the highest in the UK.

The University underwent a full Institutional Review by QAA in August 2012. QAA confirmed that the University meets UK expectations for academic standards and the quality and enhancement of our students’ learning opportunities. QAA commended as an area of good practice the small-group tutorial system and the culture of personal attention.

In 2016, the University of Buckingham underwent a specific course designation annual monitoring visit by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and has received its final report, which is available in full at: www.qaa.ac.uk/reviews-and-reports/provider?UKPRN=10007787.

The monitoring visit resulted in the following outcome: The QAA monitoring team has concluded that the University of Buckingham is making acceptable progress in implementing the action plan from the August 2012 Institutional Review.
